Three miles from historic Pierrefitte-sur-Sauldre, this family run parc is ideal for an off-the-beaten-track holiday. Facilities include superb sporting equipment, an outstanding adventure play area, and impressive waterpark. You can swim in the large lake or hire a pedalo, then relax at the sandy lakeside beach where there is also a beach bar providing stunning views across the lake and pool complex. Evening entertainment may be heard from the parc bar. The parc features a Balneo therapy wellness centre, including sauna, massage, Turkish bath and hydro-massage. Customers staying for 3 days or more get 1 free session during low season (chargeable during all of July & August and last week of June).

Discover the châteaux of the Loire, the closest being the Château de la Ferté St-Aubin, nine miles south of Orléans. The nearest shopping centre is at Lamotte-Beuvron, ten miles away. Visit Romorantin-Lanthenay, a market town with half-timbered houses, or one of the many vineyards in the local area. The Zoo Park Beauval is a marvellous day out with ‘Bird of Prey’ and ‘Sea Lion’ shows.

The Senso Balneo Centre is reserved for the over 18s although there is a special time set aside for families with children From 29/04 to 29/06 and 01/09 to 06/09/11 charge is €8 per adult and from 30/06 to 31/08/11 €12 per adult. Children have access only if accompanied by one of their parents (max 1 adult for 2 chlidren). From 29/04 - 29/06 and 01/09 - 06/09/11 children under 6yrs free, €2.00 for 7 -12yrs old, €3.00 per adult (13 +). From 30/06 - 31/08/11 children under 6yrs free, €3.00 for 7 - 12yrs, €4.00 per adult (13+). Entries are strictly limited. For safety reasons during this 'Family time', all the activities such as anatomich benches, jacuzzi, sauna, Turkish bath are stopped and closed. Parents are in charge of their children. Access conditions 16 to 18 year-olds are welcome in the Senso Balneo Spa if accompanied by a parent. Swimwear is compulsory (shorts and Bermuda shorts are forbidden for men). Check with Reception for opening/closing times.

Zoo de Beauval

Situated in the heart of the Loire valley, this is one of the best zoos in France. A great selection of animals to view, but the main attraction is the white tigers. Regular exhibitions feature birds of prey and feeding the animals

Château de Chambord

The Château of Chambord is one of the loveliest Renaissance buildings in the Loire. It was completed in 1547 and there is evidence to suggest that Leonardo da Vinci assisted in its design. Surrounded by walls of 22 miles, the chateau has 440 rooms and stables to accommodate 1200 horses. The park is over 5000 hectares in size.

Museum of Sorcery

Discover the historical world of witchcraft from the middle ages to the 19th century. A journey through an astonishing 1200m2 of maze haunted by mythical characters and beasts of the countryside. Gift shop and picnic area. Allow 1 hour for a visit

Radio and Astronomy Station

A visit to the Radio and Astronomy station will enlighten you on the history and technical and scientific aspects of astronomy. The exhibitions are interactive with a planetarium display at intervals through the day. A guided tour lasts 30 minutes. Planetarium lasts 30 minutes

Parc Floral de la Source

The park's most famous attraction is the vast expanse of flower beds. The park also has emus, peacocks and flamingos as well as deer in the woodland areas. A small train runs 20 minute trips around the park. There is a large restaurant, a playground and minigolf
