Pyrénées: Camping Pyrénées, Luz St Sauveur. A superb campsite located in the heart of the Pyrénées, this parc is somewhere you can set your own pace. From walking, cycling and horse riding to mountain biking, rock climbing and white water rafting there’s something for everyone here!

The Alps: Le Sougey, Aiguebelette. A small yet spacious parc with a lovely lakeside beach and mountain backdrop, activities here include pedalo and canoe hire. Close by is the city of Chambéry with its lovely château, and slightly further afield – but definitely worth the drive – is shimmering Lake Annecy.

Jura: La Pergola, Lac de Chalain. Forget your camera at your peril! This parc boasts a spectacular mountain setting and a beach on the lake shaded by trees. Superbly located for exploring the local area and the waterfalls and caves beyond, popular on-parc activities include fishing, watersports and cycling.

Paris: La Croix du Vieux Pont, Berny Rivière. More of a lakes holiday than a mountain holiday in that this parc has its very own lake, complete with various on and off-lake activities including fishing, canoeing and pedalos, cycling and pony trekking. Off-parc are the abundance of delights of Paris, and of course, Disneyland® Resort Paris.

Vendée: La Garangeoire, St Julien-des-Landes. Another parc that doesn’t offer the mountains but does offer the lake, this impossibly pretty parc is popular with families and couples alike, who visit year after year - and rightly so. Located just 15 minutes from the coast, the parc’s lakeside beach is a haven for fishing, rowing boats and canoeing. Other activities include cycling and even scuba diving lessons!

Lake Garda: Bella Italia, Peschiera del Garda. What a parc! A popular, large, lively parc in a superb location, Bella Italia is amongst the most charming destinations for fun-filled lakes and mountain holidays and offers its guests direct access to the famous lake and beautiful views of the mountains and villages beyond. Not only can you take part in activities such as kayaking and windsurfing, you’re in easy reach of fair Verona and romantic Venice too!

Lake Garda: Europa Silvella, San Felice. Enjoy the majestic mountain views from the beach on the lake, generously shaded by trees and take part in an array of water and land-based activities, including canoeing, fishing and walking. The nearby towns of Salò and Manerba are definitely worth a visit, as are wonderful Verona and Venice – definitely worth the journey!

Austria: Sportcamp Woferlgut, Zell Am See. As the parc name suggests, there are a lot of sporty activities to take part in here, including canoeing, kayaking and fishing, as well as land-based activities such as cycling, climbing and archery. Guided walks and cycle tours are available to book, an excellent way to make the most of your lake and mountain holidays.

Austria: Bella Austria, St Peter Am Kammersberg. Despite the absence of a lake, the mountains and rivers here are just spectacular and make for a perfect way to get away from it all. Hiking, riding, cycling and mountain biking are all excellent methods of getting the best of the wonderful views on offer here.

Switzerland: Bella Tola, Susten. Like our Austrian parc Bella Austria, there is no lake, however this parc is set in a location that’s hard to beat. Here in the Swiss Alps on the slopes of the Rhône Valley, the mountain views are just outstanding – and the views from the mountains, too, are something else! Explore the area by walking and cycling, cable cars and mountain railways.
